Final Task Aice Media Studies AS Level

Image
Here is my Final Task, the thriller film named "The Killing". This film was directed, edited, and produce by Keemori Hall, Kadia Khan, and Anayah Saintil. I am so proud that all of our extreme efforts did not go to waste. With all the difficulties and challenges that came our way I can say proudly that my groupmates and I absolutely outdid ourselves.

Editing the Final Task Project

Image
As stated in my previous blogs, my group and I set up a date and time to start editing and finish the projet before Friday. Looking back we ended up with about 40 unedited recordings, most of them being bloopers or unfinished scenes. We began on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m through a zoom call with all group members attending. We ended the meeting around 10:00 simply becuase it was getting late and we had more time to finish the next day. So far we managed to seperate the bloopers and deleted scenes from the recordings we plan on using in our project. Sorting through them all took roughly 10 minutes to finish.  After that we looked for for links on websites or videos on YouTube that'll lead us to suspensful music for our film. We also began adjusting the lighting on some of the videos using some editing apps. Unfortunately we weren't able to finish all the editing on wednesday so now we have to complete by the end of Thursday, April 15th. This time there won't be a teams meeting

Weekend Accomplishments

Image
Last weekend I focused on refilming one of the short individual scenes on my own. My mother agreed to help me get this small portion of the project done. This part took a few tries given the fact that it's trickier than the other movie scenes I've done in the past. This weekend I also wanted to review the past blogs I've made about this project and making sure that they correct. Our group also decided against meeting up to edit at a library because some people were not available. So to fix that my groupmate Kadia and I suggested that we host a zoom meeting instead sometime this week before the deadline.    We are also going to submit all the recordings to one another so everyone can participate and join in on editing. Since I'm the one conducting the zoom meeting I think it would be best to host it on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m when I know that everyone is free. Thankfully, everyone is not worried about it being too late to edit because it is a school night. We know that e

Editing Coming Soon

Saturday, April 3rd our group finished filming nearly all of our scenes for the movie. This time for our movie we wanted to get a high angle in our film. So to achieve this we adapted and use a selfie stick to get the result we wanted. We even got the chance to have one of the actors drive a car in a scene. For safety reasons we made sure that they were licensed and legal to drive this car in our film.  We also made sure that we had permission to use this car from the owner. The last scene will take place at Kadia's home so she offered to film it with the help of her cousin. Other scenes will b filmed individually between groupmates to speed up the process. These scenes are extras and we wanted to make more just in case something goes wrong. We've been creating extra scenes for past film projects as well for this exact reason.  Next, we need to refilm and replace which scenes we feel aren't good enough to be added to the final product. Then all that's left is to edit a

Slight Change In Plans

Image
Our group is scheduled to film on April 2nd around 5:30 p.m. Yet this time there is a possibility tht we won't film on Friday at all. One of the group members have a family emergency and might not be able to make it to Hamptons Park to film with the rest of us. Unfortunately we won't be able to find out for sure if tis group member has to cancel until the day of filming. On the bright side we do hve April 3rd and 4th to fibish just in case plans really do change. This week in preparation I went out to buy more fake blood. Last time when we were filming the fake blood ended up not being enough for the next day of recording. I also made sure that our group had all of the props ready for use. Next I went over all of the scenes that were previously recorded and marked down which ones we needed to fix and refilm. Finally I made sure that my costume was ready and that my gruop mates were properly prepared as well. Due to setting details in the park we had to change a few scenes b

Problems Encountered Over Spring Break

Image
Filming during spring break did not go as planned. First off gathering supplies was much more difficult than expected. Some supplies we wanted to use for filming just in case anything goes wrong ended up being too expensive to buy. Not to mention our connections weren't able to provide the supplies either. However, it didn't matter much because we were able to receive help from family members.  The next problem we encountered was a shortage of time. The park where we were filming closed at 8 pm and we arrived at 6:00 pm to begin filming. We needed to wait for the sun to start setting to complete the scenery in the film. Because of this, we had to work faster than comfort and one of the main reasons why we had to work on several days. On March 20th we completed two-three scenes in two hours. The next day we were supposed to continue filming but, unfortunately, one of our group members got extremely sick. this resulted in postponing filming since this member was an actor and hel
